The University of Colorado encourages applications for an Athletics AV Technical Coordinator (AV Technician) On‑Call position. The primary function is to coordinate, set up, and operate sound and video equipment for special events at University of Colorado – Boulder, Folsom Stadium, CU Events Center, and surrounding premium spaces. The role supports all athletic facilities by setting up audio and video equipment per event, operating audio and video systems, opening and closing facilities, and coordinating with the Folsom Events team and Athletic Operations team.
Although this is an on‑call position, significant expertise, excellent communication, and people skills are required.
- Coordinate, set up, and operate sound and video equipment for special events at CU Athletic facilities and premium event spaces, including building management and security during events.
- Assist with football/basketball game‑day and other audio/video needs for other CU sports such as soccer, lacrosse, track & field, etc.
- Communicate with prospective clients to determine their A/V needs for special events.
- Work events, weekends, after hours, and holidays as needed for this on‑call position.
- Two years of professional experience in the setup, operation, and maintenance of complex audio‑visual equipment, with knowledge and exposure to various audiovisual production techniques across live events.
- Two years of sound mixing and video projection operational experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac, Microsoft PowerPoint, and video playback methods. Appropriate education may substitute for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Familiarity with Crestron, Dante, and Daktronics.
Hourly pay ranges from $20/hr to $25/hr the University offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, retirement plans, generous paid time off, tuition assistance, and an ECO Pass for local transit.
