Compensation: $18.00 per hour

The Resident Assistant (RA) is a para‑professional, live‑in position supporting the Department of Campus & Residential Life. The RA is the primary point of contact for residential students, ensuring visibility, accessibility, and adherence to the Naropa Code of Conduct. RAs also serve as Summer Conference Assistants (SCAs), providing customer service and hospitality for conference attendees.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- General Duties
- Attend biweekly all staff meetings.
- Facilitate roommate agreements and mediate roommate conflicts.
- Lead regular community meetings.
- Maintain laundry room and community room in Snow Lion; maintain communal kitchen, living room, laundry room, decks, and patios in 2333 Arapahoe.
- On‑Call Duties
- Serve on the RA On‑Call rotation (5:00 pm–9:00 am, Monday‑Friday; full day Saturday to Monday, and all academic breaks, holidays, and campus closures).
- Perform nightly rounds in both Snow Lion Apartments and 2333 Arapahoe Residence Hall when on call.
- Address policy violations, facility concerns, resident questions, and emergencies while on call.
- Submit nightly reports during on‑call periods.
- Administrative Duties
- Submit and follow up on Facilities Work Requests.
- Summer Conference Duties
- Assist with laundering/cleaning and replacing linens, towels, and dishes.
- Lightly clean units between guest stays.
- Assist with conference check‑in and check‑out.
- Assist with on‑call emergency concerns during conferences.
- Student must have work‑study hours awarded by Naropa Financial Aid.
- Must be a current Naropa student with at least one full‑time academic year completed by the start date.
- Must live in or be able to relocate to one of the residence halls.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and positive team environment creation.
- Show strong leadership characteristics (responsibility, positive attitude, enthusiasm, adaptability, commitment, integrity, team‑building, clear communication, sound judgment, initiative, delegation, time‑management, boundary setting).
- Understand and embody Naropa University values in communication, collaboration, and general workplace behaviors.
- Current or prior residence hall experience as a resident or RA.
- Current or prior campus leadership experience.
- Lift up to 50 lb.
- Stand, walk, sit, run, handle/finger, bend at the waist, reach above shoulder level, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- Work may involve interruptions, heat/cold, dust, dampness, and heights.
