The University of Colorado Law School’s William

A. Wise Law Library seeks a Collection Services and Research Librarian. The primary responsibilities include coordinating the Law Library’s collection development functions, teaching in the J.D. curriculum, and providing research assistance as a member of the Reference Team. This 12‑month faculty position at the Teaching Faculty (non‑tenure track) level reports directly to the Associate Director of Resource Access and Discovery.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of collection development, including strategic planning and budget analysis, to ensure resources and formats align with the diverse research needs of the CU Law Community.
  • Teach at least one course per year in the J.D. curriculum.
  • Provide specialized research assistance and instruction to law faculty, law students, law staff, and the general public on reference and in the classroom.
  • Serve on Law Library, College, and University committees as appointed.
  • Participate in professional development and relevant professional library organizations.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA‑accredited law school.
  • Master’s degree in library science or information science from an ALA‑accredited school.
  • Two years of law library experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Teaching experience.
  • Experience with or interest in foreign, comparative, and international law research.
  • Experience with or interest in American Indian and Indigenous Law.

Compensation

Salary Range: $90,000–110,000 annually. Onboarding assistance is available within School of Law guidelines. A hybrid schedule (2‑3 days remote) may be allowed, depending on departmental needs.
