Coming from a fun and fast paced Saturday Birthday Parties setting, the Lead Teacher works directly with children, families, and guests to create a warm, welcoming, calm, and successful environment. This role includes leading hourly teaching sessions, supervising assistants, cleaning and resetting the studio, and maintaining a positive atmosphere.

• Lead Saturday Birthday Parties every other Saturday (optional to work each weekend if desired)
• Work with an Assistant Teacher to run the events
• Clean and reset the studio between parties and at day’s end
• Maintain a tidy and organized space
• Handle tasks such as setting up easels, tables, and art materials
• Interact positively with parents and children, ensuring a enjoyable experience

• High School diploma + a BA in progress (elementary education or art majors preferred)
• Prior experience working with children (mandatory)
• Prior experience teaching art to children (preferred)
• Knowledge of painting, drawing, mixed media, and other art mediums
• Experience in customer service or working with adults in a professional setting
• Strong classroom management, multitasking, and positive work ethic
• Patience, non‑judgemental attitude, and genuine warmth
• Understanding of child development phases
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Ability to lift and move up to 50lb and set up/tear down equipment

• Saturdays 9:15 am - 4:45 pm – every other weekend; option to work all Saturdays if desired
• Three 90‑minute parties: 10 am-11:30 am, 12 pm-1:30 pm, 2:30 pm-4 pm
• Hours adjust with party bookings; full schedule only when all parties book
• Summer (June‑August): typically one Saturday per month; additional opportunities during summer camp
• Annual breaks and closures communicated in advance

• Pre‑start:
  Asynchronous virtual onboarding (~2‑4 h) + in‑person onboarding (~2‑3 h)
• First Saturday in studio:
  Observation day of Birthday Parties (scheduled 10 Jan or 24 Jan)
• Second Saturday in studio:
  Partial teaching under observation then independent teaching
• Additional training as needed

• Base pay: $25 /hour
• Effective hourly rate with gratuity: $39–$49 /hour
• Tips per party: $40–$60
• Onboarding & training pay: $15.57 /hour
