Professional Development Trainer for Teachers and Staff
When a school sets aside a day for professional development, someone has to stand in front of the whole staff and make it worth their time. Our trainers do that for classroom management, and we want more of them in Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, and Thornton.
You'd train teachers and school staff together or in smaller groups, at the school or online. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has run classroom management training since 1993 and has trained more than 400,000 educators in all 50 states.
This is a 1099 independent contractor job. There are no guaranteed hours, and your number of trainings will vary year to year. Trainers typically make $1,000 or more per training day, and they're paid every Friday.
Bookings usually begin with your own outreach to schools, which certification teaches you to do. When a school is ready, your National Director writes the contract and does the negotiating. You won't have a territory, so you can train along the Front Range or anywhere else in the country.
Every trainer completes the virtual Weekend Certification first: 36 hours in three days, spread over two weekends. It qualifies for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global and includes an orientation, the materials you'll present, and support after you finish.
This fits current and former K-12 teachers, plus coaches, counselors, assistant principals, and principals. Most of our trainers still work in schools and train on evenings, weekends, personal days, and through the summer. Students who plan to complete certification are welcome.
