We are presently seeking a Diamond Turning Process Engineer that will sustain and improve fabrication processes in single-point diamond turning for successful execution of production optics manufacturing.

• Serves as a technical subject matter expert for diamond turning fabrication.
• Creates and improves documentation for the manufacturing of optical components.
• Trains and supports technicians on the execution of fabrication processes.
• Supports troubleshooting of existing fabrication processes.
• Monitors and drives improvement of production fabrication processes and equipment using SPC.
• Assists in the transfer of optical fabrication process technologies from R&D to production.
• Identifies, justifies, and qualifies new equipment into production.
• Supports procurement and quality with supplier evaluation and selection.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (Physics, Optics, etc.).
• 5+ years of single-point diamond turning optical component fabrication experience desirable.
• Proficiency with Nanotech Ultra-Precision Lathes desirable.
• Proficiency with Zygo and Form Talysurf metrology desirable.
• Proficiency with Solid Works or other CAD software desirable.
• Proficiency with SPC desirable.
• Experience with structured problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, etc) desirable.

$120,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience.
