RoleAssembly Process Engineer
LocationBoulder, Colorado
Responsibilities- Serves as a technical subject matter expert for optical assembly processes.
- Supports the transition of new optical assemblies from prototype to full-rate production.
- Conducts analyses to assess and validate assembly processes and tool designs.
- Creates and improves documentation for the manufacture of optical assemblies.
- Trains technicians on the use of tools and processes for current and transitioning assemblies.
- Supports troubleshooting of existing assembly tools and processes.
- Monitors and drives improvement of production assembly processes using Statistical Process Control.
- Supports procurement and quality with supplier evaluation and selection.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Physics, Optics, etc.). Advanced degree desirable.
- 7+ years experience in optics-related field desirable.
- Proficiency with Solid Works or other CAD software desirable.
- Experience with adhesive selection and troubleshooting desirable.
- Proficiency with optical modeling software such as Zemax, Code V, FRED desirable.
- Experience with optical alignment and bonding desirable.
- Experience with automation programming (PC and/or PLC) desirable.
- Experience with structured problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, etc.).
- Proficiency with Statistical Process Control.

Pay Range$100,000-$115,000 per year, depending on experience.
