Sci Tec has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to support our Next‑Generation Missile Warning software program. You will work within a team delivering end‑to‑end software processing of Overhead Persistent Infra Red (OPIR) sensor data for missile warning. The role requires developing and implementing model‑based systems engineering processes in support of an Agile software development program in a challenging national security environment.
Responsibilities- Implement systems engineering processes aligned with IEEE 15288.
- Design and model software architectures for data processing systems.
- Develop artifacts using Model‑Based Systems Engineering.
- Mentor other Sci Tec staff in systems engineering processes and methodologies.
- Communicate professionally and effectively between customer representatives, program managers, software developers, and other team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering (including systems engineering), or computer science.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in engineering, computer science, remote sensing, aerospace, or defense.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a systems engineer on software development programs.
- Two (2) years of experience specifically with MBSE and modeling.
- Two (2) years of experience developing system/software requirements.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Domain experience with remote sensor systems or software architecture, especially OPIR sensor processing.
- Systems engineering experience supporting defense and aerospace programs.
- Experience supporting prototypes transformation into production‑level engineering solutions.
- Additional professional experience in systems engineering beyond 2 years.
- Familiarity with the Cameo family of tools, specifically Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Experience with Agile software development methods.
- Demonstrated experience in program management and project leadership.
- Graduate degrees or coursework in Systems Engineering or related fields.
- An active SECRET DoD security clearance or higher.

The pay range for this position is $117,000 – $168,000 per year. Sci Tec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
