Space Nav Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer
Space Nav is looking for an experienced Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer to perform various functions for numerous satellites in different orbital regimes. The Flight Dynamics engineer is responsible for accurate orbit determination, creation of maneuver plans, and development of automation scripts that produce error‑free mission products. Shift work and on‑call support will be required.
As a Flight Dynamics Engineer, you will be responsible for performing various analyses that help define a given mission’s concept of operations. As the Flight Dynamics Operations lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that the rest of the flight dynamics team is trained and certified. You will perform testing and validation for various software tools. You should excel in working with large‑scale applications, frameworks, and mission critical systems.
You will be a hands‑on leader who leads by example.
- Generate daily flight dynamics products
- Perform collision risk assessment and generate collision avoidance strategies
- Serve as the primary interface to both internal and external customers
- Maintain operational console procedures
- Manage the training and certification process for the Flight Dynamics team
- Expertise in state estimation, probability and statistics, maneuver planning
- Previous experience with satellite mission operations and analysis
- 5+ years’ experience developing complex MATLAB and Python scripts
- Ability to multi‑task, organize, and prioritize work
$100,000 - $130,000 per year.
