Position: Systems Engineer II - Core Systems Engineering with Security Clearance
Job Description This position is for an experienced system engineer who can work in and lead a multi-disciplinary team to develop, maintain, verify and communicate the requirements baseline for a program that includes Mission, Segment, Element (payload, spacecraft bus, and ground) and/or Subsystems scope. The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions.

* Provide systems engineering support to the Systems Engineering team and stewardship of technical teams in the development, verification, delivery, and operations of Missions, Segments, Elements, and Subsystems.

* Support the proper allocation, traceability, and verification of requirements at all levels through the lifecycle of the program.

* Interact with multiple subject matter experts across disciplines to develop the required allocation analysis and verification artifacts.

* Interface with and support the program's lead system engineer, chief engineer and customer.

* Support expectations, preparations, and delivery for major gate reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, PSR).

* Coordinate requirements verification with I&T activities.

* Coordinate with and assist other engineering disciplines and IPTs as assigned.

* Use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for architecture to requirements traceability and interface development.

* Mentor other system engineers assigned to the team.

* Support the program Risk & Opportunity Management and ERB processes.

* Prepare and give presentations to peers, management, and customers.

* Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

* Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

* Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:

* Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.

* May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.

* May access other facilities in various weather conditions. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
* BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 years or more related experience.

* Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

* No clearance is required, but the successful candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

* Related experience in either mission systems, spacecraft systems, ground systems or payloads preferred.

* Experience using requirements database tools (DOORS, Jama, Cameo Requirements Modeler, e.g.)

* Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, SysML and DoDAF/UAF/UPDM.

* The ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams including meeting schedule and performance goals.

* Demonstrated ability to review effective and verifiable requirements - detail oriented.

* Demonstrated experience in systems engineering processes, including requirements development, requirement allocation, change management, verification and validation - a self-starter that will own this activity with the proper guidance.

* Good presentation skills with experience presenting to senior decision making and technical audiences. #LI-NP1 A…
