About Rocky Mountain Equality

Rocky Mountain Equality is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing equity and justice for LGBTQ+ individuals and underrepresented communities across the Rocky Mountain region. Through advocacy, education, and strategic partnerships, we strive to build a more inclusive and equitable society.

Description of the Work

Rocky Mountain Equality (RMEQ) is committed to creating inclusive, supportive spaces for LGBTQ+ community members throughout Colorado. Our behavioral health programs, The Point and Pride in Recovery, focus on helping community members thrive, whether they're experiencing mental health challenges or navigating substance use recovery. We provide care that's both affirming and tailored to meet the unique needs of LGBTQ+ individuals. Our services are designed to be inclusive and accessible, with bilingual and bicultural support available to help break down any barriers to care.

The Point is a short-term, safety-net mental health program for LGBTQ+ individuals in Boulder County who are uninsured, underinsured, or on Medicaid/Medicare, while Pride in Recovery offers peer-led support to help individuals on their substance use recovery journey.

  • As the Bilingual Case Manager, you will be a primary point person for LGBTQ+ community members seeking mental health support, resources, and referrals. You’ll provide culturally-competent, person-centered case management and resource navigation to clients and community members, helping them explore long-term care options and establish connection to relevant programs and services. Responsibilities include helping clients set and achieve goals, assessing and addressing access to basic needs, coordinating care with internal and external providers, and advocating for clients' biopsychosocial needs.

The ideal candidate will be resourceful, responsive, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. In this community-facing role, you'll need strong communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to make thoughtful, informed decisions. A keen awareness of the unique challenges and needs facing LGBTQ+ populations in Boulder and beyond will be crucial in shaping your approach to working with clients and community members, ensuring that your support is both relevant and empathetic.

Collaborate with the behavioral health team to assess and adapt programming to meet evolving needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or related field, or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Experience in healthcare, human services, social work, and with LGBTQ+ populations is highly desired.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience providing case management to individuals facing chronic health conditions, mental illness, substance use, and/or homelessness.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods (2-3 hours) while managing interruptions.
  • Job offer is contingent upon successful completion of background checks.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively apply Motivational Interviewing techniques.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Rocky Mountain Equality is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
