We are seeking an experienced Jira Solutions Specialist Lead Engineer with deep expertise in Atlassian Jira administration, customization, integration, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will lead enterprise‑level Jira implementations and enhancements, ensuring the platform effectively supports agile project delivery, workflow automation, and cross‑team collaboration. This role involves designing scalable solutions, managing complex configurations, integrating Jira with other enterprise systems, and providing technical leadership for engineering and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, architecture, configuration, and administration of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and related Atlassian tools.
- Analyze business and technical requirements to translate them into scalable Jira configurations, workflows, automation rules, and custom solutions.
- Configure custom screens, fields, dashboards, reports, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
- Develop and maintain custom Jira plugins, scripts, and automation using Groovy, Java, REST APIs, and Script Runner.
- Manage system integrations between Jira and enterprise tools such as Git Hub, Jenkins, Service Now, Slack, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform Jira data migration, instance consolidation, upgrades, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Provide governance and best‑practice guidance for Jira usage, development lifecycle workflows, and agile project management.
- Lead troubleshooting, incident response, and root‑cause analysis related to Jira performance and configuration issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and leadership teams to enhance workflow efficiency and reporting visibility.
- Train and mentor Jira administrators, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
- Maintain platform security, compliance, backups, and documentation.
- 12+ years of overall IT experience with extensive hands‑on expertise in Jira administration and Atlassian platform engineering.
- Proven track record in configuring, customizing, and scaling Jira for large enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with Script Runner, Groovy scripting, REST APIs, automation, and plugin development.
- Experience designing and supporting complex workflows, project configurations, and integration solutions.
- Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, SAFe, ITSM, and Dev Ops methodologies.
- Experience with Confluence administration and knowledge base configuration.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration capabilities.
- Atlassian certifications such as ACP-610, ACP-620, ACP-120, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with Jira Cloud migrations and Atlassian Cloud‑to‑Cloud or Server‑to‑Cloud transitions.
- Knowledge of Linux/Windows server administration and database systems (Postgre
SQL, MySQL, SQL Server). - Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or Git Lab.
- Familiarity with Service Now, AWS, Azure, or other enterprise integration platforms.
- Ability to support reporting using Jira dashboards, eazy
BI, or Power BI.
