Role OverviewSite Reliability Engineering at Aff… is a small, yet crucial, team that helps our Engineering partners to “Operate What They Own” with excellence to protect their customers’ experience. The SRE accomplishes this through defining frameworks and best practices, building tooling, providing training and consulting.
Responsibilities- Providing data and visibility to teams and leadership on application performance
- Guiding the development of SLOs
- Driving the Incident Management and Analysis process
- Steering the implementation of Change Management and Deployment practices
- Engaging in service and architectural conversations
- Recommending observability and alerting configurations
- Building and maintaining tools to support SRE processes
- Collaborating across teams to ensure technical sustainability and risk management
- Acting as a force‑multiplier through advocacy of technical solutions and operational processes
- Owning operations and availability through monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting
- Fostering culture of quality and ownership via code review and design standards
- Providing mentorship, feedback and guidance to team members
- 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Kotlin
- Extensive track record of building highly available distributed systems on AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
- Experience managing and improving incident life cycles from live incident management to retrospectives
- 7+ years in Site Reliability or Production Engineering teams
- Strong curiosity with empathy, loosely held opinions
- Experience delivering major features or system components with technical and execution plans; writes high‑quality code
- Comfort with ambiguity and breadth from low‑level language idioms to large‑scale architecture
- Demonstrated growth and impact via effective collaboration with peers and stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Either Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
- Base Pay Grade - P
- Equity Grade - 13
- Base pay (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $225,000 - $275,000 per year
- Base pay (all other U.S. states): $200,000 - $250,000 per year
