We are seeking a motivated Support Engineer to help operate and maintain the Boulder TBS Consolidated Lab, supporting wireless technology development programs, including 6G initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for station health, infrastructure support, issue triage, and day-to-day lab operations to ensure a reliable and productive test environment for engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and maintain TBS station and pool health, proactively identifying and resolving operational issues.
- Support day-to-day lab operations, including station troubleshooting, quarantine management, and recovery activities.
- Assist with deployment, configuration, and upgrades of TBS stations, devices, and supporting infrastructure.
- Support TBS tools and infrastructure, including Custom Scheduler, AXIOM, Fleet Manager, and related systems.
- Perform RF performance analysis, test failure triage, and basic root cause investigations.
- Manage UE calibration activities, device readiness, and station resource availability.
- Generate operational reports and analytics to monitor station utilization, reliability, and capacity.
- Work closely with Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineering teams to implement fixes, and improve overall system performance.
- Support hardware, software, and environment management across lab systems and test stations.
- Document issues, solutions, and operational procedures to improve team efficiency and knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
- OR
- Associate's degree and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
- OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
- Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
- Bachelor's degree or
- Associate's degree and 1+ year of Engineering Technician or related work experience or
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of Engineering Technician or related work experience.
- Optional:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or completion of a military technical or trade school program. - Experience with wireless test systems, lab operations, or infrastructure support.
- Knowledge network concepts and experience debugging network connectivity issues in a lab.
- Familiarity with RF concepts, Linux and Windows environments, and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across diverse engineering teams.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.
- Maintain high station availability and reliability.
- Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Improve station pool efficiency through process execution and continuous improvement.
- Provide responsive support for engineering teams and customer-critical programs.
