Job Description
The Environmental Site and Conveyance Project Manager has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating civil engineering related project assignments for water and wastewater treatment plant site work and water and wastewater conveyance. This role will manage a team of talented engineers to develop design solutions for projects with unique site challenges. This role manages site drainage, grading, utility design, and municipal review processes in Colorado.
Supervision is mostly project-based, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Work at this level typically requires approximately 10 to 15 years of experience.
Example Responsibilities & Activites
- In a supervisory capacity, the Project Manager plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a number of site and conveyance related projects of various sizes
- Directs the project engineering design and details
- In a team environment, supervises engineering and support personnel; assigns and schedules project work; establishes project priorities and standards; organizes project team meetings
- Coordinates schedules and resources with other Project Managers
- Takes lead role in project budgeting and staffing needs
- Generates and completes contracts with clients for projects under their responsibility
- Revies billing and assists in accounts receivable collection
- Promotes and enforces JVA's Quality Assurance/Quality Control culture. Will be responsible for following the policy and procedures of the QA/QC policy manual.
- Responsible for QA/QC reviews and conducts constructability reviews or assists in the design/planning/review of other engineering projects
- Coordinates Construction Administration services with Project Engineer. Takes lead in reviewing Change Orders and responsible for coordinating with Principal
- Leads local agency reviews for project teams
- Completes projects of considerable scope and complexity. Also serves as a technical specialist for the company with exceptional expertise in a particular area and as such keeps abreast of new methods and developments in this area for the purpose of recommending changes to JVA
- The Project Manager will manage select clients and develop new clients in area of expertise
- Performs marketing activities and coordinates those efforts with a Principal or Discipline Manager
- Prepares proposals with Principal for potential projects and in the negotiations of fees

- Ability to obtain P.E. License
within one year of hire: Have the required combination years of education and engineering experience to be able to obtain a P.E. License in the state of Colorado within one year of hire. - Software Utilization: Demonstrated expertise with overseeing construction drawing preparation with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and MS Office software packages.
