Position: General Laborer – 2nd Shift- Full Time – Crowley, TX

Pay starting at: $17.00/hour, based upon experience.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs tasks involving physical labor, assembles metal products on shop floor, and operate a variety of hand and power tools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assemble structures with bolts using the correct procedure.
  • Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to product close fit between parts.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Operate the crane to move material.
  • Operate grinders and other power tools to prep material for welding.
  • Touch up galvanizing defects and sharp edges.
  • Drill holes in products per specifications.
  • Sweep areas to keep the shop clean.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
    • MINIMUM

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    REQUIRED:
    • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and control standards.
    • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
    • Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
    • Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
    • Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
    • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.
    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
    • Work involves moderate to heavy exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
    • Moderate to heavy physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds.
    • Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require strict understanding and adherence to safety precautions.
