ORGANIZATION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

While Rocky Mountain Conservancy was originally founded in 1931, Rocky Mountain Conservancy – Conservation Corps (RMC-CC) was started in 2003 to take a more active role in stewardship of Rocky Mountain National Park and the surrounding areas. Each year, 40-60 participants work hard to perform essential conservation projects across an array of areas, primarily focusing on trails, vegetation, or historic preservation.

Along with hard work in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, RMC strives to create an inclusive environment where our participants can learn and grow from others in the natural resources space. Through multiple different educational opportunities, RMC hopes to provide individuals with tangible knowledge to further their career goals, as well as to make them more active citizens in their own communities.

RMC-CC offers primarily crew summer programming, operating in line with most colleges on a semester schedule. Each crew is made up of 6-10 individuals who spend the summer serving in or around Rocky Mountain National Park. Members learn valuable leadership, outdoor, and interpersonal skills, and earn a Segal Education Award at the end of their term, coinciding with the number of hours they’ve served.

Crews get the chance to partner with many agencies, from the National Park Service to the U.S Forest Service, as well as several different non-profits in the region. For more information, please visit our website.
