Good With People? Make It Your Job.Some people are great behind a screen. Others are best when they're out in the world, meeting people, making connections, and having conversations that matter.
If you're the second kind, we should talk.
Public Outreach is hiring Nonprofit Outreach Representatives to join our face-to-face fundraising team in Boulder.
You'll work with a supportive team, meet people throughout the community, and help nonprofit organizations build support for causes like environmental protection, human rights, LGBTQIA+ equality, reproductive freedom, and humanitarian relief.
We're looking for people with personality, curiosity, resilience, and the confidence to start a conversation.
We'll teach you the rest.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DOThis isn't a desk job, a call center role, or a position where you do the same thing every day.
You'll be out in the Boulder community, talking with people face-to-face and helping them discover causes worth supporting.
Your day will involve:
Starting conversations with people you haven't met before
Sharing stories about important nonprofit campaigns
Inspiring people to become ongoing monthly donors
Working outdoors alongside an energetic, supportive team
Building communication, persuasion, and public speaking skills
Receiving coaching and working toward fundraising goals
The important part: This is a direct, face-to-face fundraising role. You'll be approaching members of the public, asking for financial support, and hearing "no" plenty of times.
It's not for everyone.
But if you enjoy connecting with people, can laugh off an awkward conversation, and like getting better at something challenging, you might be surprisingly good at it.
WHY PEOPLE LIKE THIS JOBYou earn a guaranteed hourly wage.
You’ll make $20/hour from day one, plus opportunities for performance bonuses. This is not a commission-only job.
Your work supports causes that matter.
Help nonprofit organizations build the long-term support they need to protect people, communities, and the environment.
You'll develop skills that travel with you.
Communication, confidence, storytelling, teamwork, leadership, and handling rejection are useful almost everywhere.
You're not doing it alone.
You'll receive paid training, work alongside experienced fundraisers, and get regular feedback to help you improve.
There's room to grow.
Many of our leaders started in entry-level fundraising positions. If you enjoy the work and perform well, there are opportunities to develop into coaching and leadership roles.
