Summary:The Sales Planning Manager is responsible for developing effective sales plans, providing efficient trade budgeting, creating merchandise and incremental volume forecasts, and designing new item launch plans. The Sales Planning Manager is embedded in the Natrol commercial team and is a key member tasked with driving top‑line growth. This role ensures that all necessary tools are built and enabled to allow the sales team to execute in the market at a high level in terms of merchandising, pricing, distribution, and shelving that delivers profitable growth objectives and enables the company to meet its financial commitments.
Yourprimary activities will include but are not limited to:
- Sales Planning/Incremental Volume Driver Management:
- Drive the Annual Merchandising Depth and Frequency Planning Process.
- Responsible for monthly updates to innovation Demand Drivers forecasting process.
- Account Planning, ensure account plans are completed for the top Natrol customers.
- Manage KPI’s for customers and market performance indicators.
- Drive Channel Strategy, product, price, promotion, shelving.
- Identify and assist in developing and executing key tentpole event activities (displays, POS, endcaps) with core customers.
- Trade Marketing/Planning and Execution:
- Plan trade budgets and monitor spend rates to balance to zero.
- Establish budgets, objectives, establish an approval process including ROI review.
- Run post‑event analysis to determine impact, effectiveness & improvement opportunities of trade and customer marketing programs.
- New Item Launch/Support Planning:
- Own the sales forecast for all new item launches.
- Work with the marketing team to develop channel (and account) specific launch plan including MSRP guidance, trade depth and frequency plan, shopper marketing integration, distribution targets, etc.
- Create new product sales tool kits to ensure successful new product launches.
- Coordinate all necessary samples for product meetings, trade shows, and other relevant sales events.
- Key conduit between sales and marketing teams for all innovation‑related support.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Sales Planning experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s required, master’s or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in Food Drug Mass Club preferred but not required.
- Strong cross‑functional and decision‑making skills.
- Results‑oriented and must possess sound judgement.
- Must be flexible, have a strong sense of urgency, and be able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with analytics, including financial analytics, preferred.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
