As the Specialty Sales Manager for Backpacker’s Pantry, you will drive growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans. You will oversee key B2B accounts, manage relationships with brokers, outside reps, and retailers, and build strong partnerships that align with our mission and values. This role requires a proactive leader who can identify opportunities, deliver exceptional service, and collaborate across teams to achieve revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement sales budgets, strategies and forecasts.
- Continuously assess and refine sales processes and systems to maximize efficiency and drive results.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, building a robust pipeline of prospective accounts to expand brand reach and revenue.
- Strengthen relationships with retail partners and grow the presence of Backpacker’s Pantry.
- Manage and support brokers and representatives to maximize sales performance.
- Lead trade show planning and execution to showcase our brand and products.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of orders and account setup.
- Provide insights to leadership and contribute to the alignment of sales, marketing, and product development strategies.
- Monitor sales trends, evaluate performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Travel to meet with partners, attend trade shows, and support account activities as needed.

- At least 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the outdoor industry.
- Understanding of Backpacker’s Pantry’s products, and competitive landscape.
- Familiarity with specialty retail dynamics and trends in the outdoor market.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to problem-solve independently.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work from our Boulder office four days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays).
- Salary: $75,000–$85,000/year, plus eligibility for Sales Incentive.
