Staff / Sr Staff Python Software Engineer – Boulder, CO

We are seeking a talented Python Software Developer to support programs focusing on missile warning and missile tracking. The ideal candidate will have extensive Python experience, thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, small-team environment, and be able to prototype, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions.

Location:

Boulder, CO. Remote work is not stated.

• Work independently and with the team to develop high-quality software features aligned to project objectives
• Assist in containerization, testing, and deployment of software for delivery to customers
• Provide guidance and support for other technical performers
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Familiarity with microservice architectures
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Understanding of software engineering principles and commitment to code quality
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
• Detail-oriented with good verbal and written communication skills

Candidates with any of the following will be preferred:

• Advanced degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
• Experience with remotely sensed data or aerospace engineering principles
• Familiarity with messaging technologies (protobuf, ZMQ, Kafka, gRPC, REST APIs)
• Background in statistics
• Dev Ops experience with Docker, Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD
• Experience with SQL, PostGIS, Redis

Salary: $98,000 – $146,000 per year. Offer level is determined by role responsibilities, experience, education, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
