Senior Software Engineer

Flatirons Solutions helps Airlines, Aerospace Manufacturers, and MROs (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul organizations) manage complex technical data through innovative software solutions. Our Product Engineering team in Boulder, CO focuses on building and evolving our core products—delivering scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient software that powers mission-critical aviation operations.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our product team in Boulder, CO. This position is focused on product development
, with a strong emphasis on data transformations, ETL, and XSLT pipelines
. HYBRID ROLE Must be able to come into our Boulder, CO office.

The ideal candidate will lead by example in building robust, high-performance software and will play a key role in re-architecting critical data transformation pipelines for resiliency and cost efficiency.

Must demonstrate advanced Java and Spring expertise, have an understanding of design patterns and system design, and be able to relate to real-world scenarios.

Must be located in the Boulder/Denver area

Must be a U.S. citizen due to working on export-controlled data.

• Lead and contribute to the development of core product features in the CLM platform.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and customers to clarify requirements and ensure successful delivery.
• Apply Agile and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to deliver high-quality, maintainable code.
• Design, implement, and optimize data transformation pipelines with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Write and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code

• Mentor teammates, providing technical guidance and best practices.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with QMS and ISMS standards.

• U.S. citizenship (mandatory requirement).
• 7–12 years of recent professional experience developing Java and Spring Boot applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• Strong expertise in object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Solid understanding of scalable application architecture.
• Proficiency with version control and CI/CD pipelines.

• Proven experience in ETL and large-scale data pipeline engineering
  , especially optimizing for resiliency and cost efficiency.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services
  .
• Knowledge of aviation publishing standards (S1000D, ATA iSpec
  2200).
• Previous experience in the aviation, aerospace, or MRO industry

Salary: $110,000 to $160,000
