Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey, Inc. is seeking a Thrift Store Associate to work in a fast‑paced production setting. The role involves receiving donations, sorting, tagging, pricing, and preparing merchandise for sale.
Job DescriptionThe position requires standing for extended periods and lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds while handling a high volume of inventory. Maintaining stockroom organization, ensuring quality control, and following safety standards are essential for success.

Job Responsibilities- Sort, grade, and inspect donations for quality and condition.
- Tag and price merchandise according to company standards, meeting production goals per hour.
- Prepare items on rolling racks and carts for transport to the sales floor, maintaining full fixture standards.
- Organize and separate items for e‑commerce and clearance departments, accurately labeling all goods.
- Follow safety procedures and operational guidelines to maintain a clean and secure environment.
- Provide excellent customer and donor service, including accepting donations, issuing receipts, and keeping the donation area neat.
- Support Goodwill’s mission by maximizing efficiency and productivity in daily tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the store team and broader organizational goals.
Flexibility in availability is essential to meet the needs of a business that operates Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Health & Safety GuidelinesHandling pre‑owned merchandise may expose employees to allergens, dust, or other substances. Goodwill provides training, protective equipment, and follows safety protocols. Employees must follow all guidelines and report concerns to management.
