Job Summary

As Director of Respiratory Therapy you will have the opportunity to use your clinical and leadership knowledge and experience to effectively lead a team that is dedicated to serving others in need and supporting one another. In this role:

Responsibilities
  • You will serve as a role model for implementation of patient care standards, effective communication, involvement in professional organizations, and problem‑solving techniques.
  • You will assess the educational needs of the staff, evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs, and make changes to program content based on findings.
  • You will hire, train and develop talented people and foster a culture that nurtures effective recruitment and retention of staff.
  • You will assure that all individuals in the department who are responsible for the assessment, treatment, and care of patients are competent to deliver care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • You will provide leadership in developing executive strategic initiatives.
  • You will be responsible for the supervision of quality control and quality improvement within the department.
  • You will ensure that staff members have sufficient information to comply with laws, regulations and policies, as well as resources to resolve ethical dilemmas to adhere to compliance and the Code of Conduct.
  • You will collaborate with Marketing and Community Relations staff to effectively market and promote pulmonary services and accomplish outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in an acute hospital setting required; 3-5 years of experience at the Assistant Director or Director level preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
  • RRT/RCP-State Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
  • Associate Degree
