Job Description

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.Use all bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.Follow food temperature logs and cooking instructions.Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.Check product quality for freshness and review "sell by" dates.Use kitchen equipment properly, including stove, scale, fryer, steamer, and robots.Label, stock, and inventory merchandise.Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.Understand store layout and locate products for customers.Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, and keep logs.Create a welcoming environment for customers.Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.Report customer or employee accidents.Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
