Overview
Riverside Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainer to join our Rehabilitation Services team in Kankakee, Illinois. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing high-quality healthcare to athletes and active individuals, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of sports-related injuries. The successful candidate will collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care and rehabilitation services, ensuring the optimal health and performance of our patients.
Must have the ability to travel between school affiliates and clinics. Additionally, this position requires flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.
- Injury Prevention &
Education:
Design and implement injury prevention programs tailored to individual athletes and teams. Educate athletes, coaches, and parents on safe practices, injury prevention strategies, and proper use of equipment. - Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis:
Conduct thorough evaluations of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Provide accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare providers. - Rehabilitation & Treatment:
Develop and execute personalized rehabilitation programs to facilitate recovery and return to activity. Apply therapeutic modalities and techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and functional training. - Emergency Care & First Aid:
Respond to emergency situations during athletic events and practices, providing immediate care for acute injuries. Ensure the safe transport of injured athletes to appropriate medical facilities when necessary. - Collaboration & Communication:
Maintain open communication with physicians, physical therapists, coaches, and other stakeholders. Document and report on the progress of rehabilitation programs and outcomes. - Program Development & Management:
Assist in the development and management of athletic training programs and services within the healthcare system. Initiate and administer an athletic training student-aide program in accordance with the schools clubs and activities guidelines and state law. Participate in community outreach programs and promote health and wellness initiatives. - Assist with administrative tasks related to athletic training services, including scheduling, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
- Attend professional development courses and workshops to stay current with industry standards and advancements in athletic training.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of services offered.
