Salary: £30,000-£40,000 DOE + Study Support
A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Bournemouth is looking to recruit an ambitious Accounts Senior to join its friendly and supportive team.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a part-qualified ACA or ACCA professional who is actively studying and looking to build a long-term career within practice. The firm is keen to invest in someone who wants to develop their technical skills, gain exposure to a varied client portfolio, and progress within the business.
Due to continued growth and an increasing client workload, the successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accounts and supporting the wider team, helping to provide stability while developing into a more senior position over time.
The RoleWorking closely with Managers and Directors, you'll manage a varied workload across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT, and client support for a broad portfolio of owner‑managed businesses.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to progress within a collaborative, office‑based team where culture and teamwork are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
- Preparing management accounts where required.
- Completing bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax compliance.
- Liaising directly with clients, answering day‑to‑day accounting queries and building strong relationships.
- Working with cloud accounting software including Xero, Sage, Quick Books and CCH.
- Supporting Managers with year‑end accounts and wider client portfolio work.
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- A minimum of two to five years' experience within an accountancy practice (more experience welcomed).
- Be ACA or ACCA part-qualified and actively studying.
- Strong experience preparing accounts for a varied client base.
- Experience with VAT returns and bookkeeping.
- Good working knowledge of Xero, Sage, Quick Books and ideally CCH
. - Confidence communicating directly with clients.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
- A genuine desire to progress within a growing accountancy practice.
- Salary between £30,000 and £40,000
, depending on experience. - Ongoing ACA/ACCA study support.
