#TeamUHD are recruiting for a Radiology Clerical Officer to work in our busy radiology department.

You'll be booking appointments over the phone, by letter and also face to face with patients - so excellent communication skills are a must for this role. You'll cover reception and undertake other general administrative office duties as required to provide an all-round efficient administrative service.

Main duties of the job

Person Specification QUALIFICATIONS
  • Good standard of education including Maths and English GCSE
EXPERIENCE
  • Reception and telephone work with direct client/patient contact
  • Booking appointments / maintaining a diary system
  • Problem solving
  • Able to prioritise work, negotiate and make decisions
  • Able to work both as part of a team and also using own initiative
  • Experience of hospital/care work
  • Keyboard/typing skills (eg. RSA II or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the following Windows applications - Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Able to file and maintain accurate records.
  • Data accuracy on computer systems.
Knowledge
  • Able to comprehend the nature of the work, the Data Protection Act, and able to comprehend the importance of accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Knowledge of patient pathways and RTT waiting times
  • Knowledge of Camis and other hospital computer system.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Able to communicate with a wide range of people face to face, and by telephone.
  • Able to work under pressure amid interruptions.
  • Awareness of special needs of patients.
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and be able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to cope with difficult people and situations.
Other requirements
  • Be receptive to change.
  • Be flexible and willing to adapt duties to meet the needs of the service.
  • Able to cover extra hours if required.
  • Interested in working with patients.
  • Willing to undergo training as required.
