Construction Manager – AMP 8

Location:

Bournemouth

A career development opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing team at Galliford Try within the Environment Business in the Bournemouth area. Galliford Try has been appointed as the Principal Contractor for the Wessex Water AMP 8 framework, and you will work as part of an experienced, high‑performance team delivering Design & Build projects on this £3.5 billion framework.

What you will be doing
  • Co‑ordination of constructability input during the preliminary design phase
  • Planning, co‑ordination and allocation of construction staff to ensure the most efficient and effective use of resources
  • Liaising with Project Managers, Site Team and HR to develop a construction resource pool that satisfies the projects’ requirements
  • Overall management of construction resources including labour, plant and material
  • Performance and relationship management of subcontractors
  • Identifying discipline‑specific technical issues and providing feedback to the detail design team for resolution
  • Ensuring construction teams are accountable for their performance against agreed schedules and man‑hour budgets
  • Ensuring all construction activities comply with Health and Safety legislation and the contract‑specific quality plan
  • Contributing to a safe working environment, with Health and Safety as the priority for all activities
About you
  • Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company policy and procedures
  • Promotes a positive safety, quality and FREDIE culture
  • Aligns and works in line with Galliford Try values – Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration
  • Proven experience in successfully managing multiple teams and contributing to their professional development
  • First‑class project management capabilities with a track record of delivering to client expectations
  • Demonstrates relevant managerial and/or technical experience at a senior level
  • Desirable:
    Member of a relevant professional body and/or holding a relevant qualification (e.g. HND/Degree Engineering or equivalent)
  • Relevant CSCS card
  • Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages
