Position: Lecturer (Academic) in Ecology

Lecturer (Academic) in Ecology – Bournemouth University

About The Role

As a Lecturer in Ecology, you will demonstrate excellent knowledge of general ecology and expertise in a key discipline within the field such as Marine Conservation, Landscape Ecology, or wildlife conservation. You will be enthusiastic about student‑centred pedagogy, contributing to education delivery and programme management across a range of degree programmes, particularly in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation, Environmental Sciences, and Biological Sciences.

You will also support student career development to improve employability and maintain professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations at regional, national, and international levels.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified to Doctorate level or able to demonstrate equivalent ability to create and disseminate knowledge at that level, with the capability to convert into a doctorate in a maximum of 3‑5 years from appointment.
  • Research active and committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in marine conservation, marine biology, wildlife protection, or landscape ecology preferred.
