Position: High Level Teaching Assistant

Two Full-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant Vacancies – Bournemouth

This specialist primary campus supports children aged 5 to 12 with a variety of SEN needs
, including communication difficulties, social and emotional challenges, sensory differences and complex learning needs. The school is well known for its nurturing ethos, structured environment and dedication to helping every child make meaningful progress.

About the Roles

We are looking to appoint two full-time Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support teaching and learning across the school. These roles involve leading small groups, delivering planned activities and providing high-quality support to children with a range of additional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead small-group sessions and deliver learning activities planned by teachers
  • Provide tailored support for children with SEN in a primary setting
  • Promote emotional regulation, communication and independence
  • Support positive behaviour strategies and help maintain a calm, structured classroom
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and therapists to meet individual needs
  • Contribute to planning, assessment discussions and pupil progress reviews
Essential Experience

Applicants must have:

  • At least 6 months childcare experience
    , ideally supporting children with SEN
  • Strong communication and behaviour-support skills
  • A patient, consistent and proactive approach
  • Confidence supporting learning across a primary age range

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
