Based in a single secondary school in Bournemouth, you'll gain real classroom experience from day one while working towards a fully funded PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
How the Programme Works Step One:Classroom Experience (Year
1)
Your first year is about confidence, exposure, and understanding what teaching really involves.
- Work as a Cover Supervisor, leading classes and supporting learning
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
- Work alongside experienced teachers and school staff
- Develop the skills needed to move into teacher training
Formal Teacher Training (Year
2)
In your second year, you'll progress into a trainee teacher role.
- Plan and deliver lessons with structured support
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies
- Complete a fully funded PGCE qualification
- Work towards achieving QTS, preparing you for a qualified teaching role
- £22,000-£25,000 salary while you train
- No tuition fees - PGCE costs are covered
- One school placement in Bournemouth for the full two years

You should have:
- A Bachelor's degree (any subject)
- GCSE Maths and English

- A genuine interest in working with young people
- Commitment to a two-year programme in Bournemouth
