Overview

BCP Salary Band 7 - appointments will be made at the starting point of the salary range. The salary shown is pro-rated based on a 32.5 hour working week from the full-time equivalent. Monday - Friday, 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time + inset days). It is important to note that it is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Are you a dedicated Teaching Assistant or a pastoral support professional, looking for a new challenge? Linwood School is seeking a Regulation & Engagement Support Worker to join our dynamic PACE Team. Linwood School is an outstanding multi-campus day special school for pupils aged 4-19, welcoming students from a wide geographical area and supporting a broad range of needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, CLDD, and autism.

We are looking to expand our Pace Team across several campuses.

We are on a journey to revolutionise our approach to regulation and engagement (formerly behaviour management/support). At the heart of our practice is recognising that behaviour is communication, trauma-informed care, relational and therapeutic thinking. Our PACE Team (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) plays a vital role in creating and delivering high-quality interventions to support students in maintaining regulation throughout the school day.

Responsibilities
  • Support and model in-class strategies to help students maintain regulation.
  • Develop intuitive support plans and personalised learning approaches.
  • Lead and facilitate Nurture Groups to help students re-engage with learning.
  • Accurately record and report regulation and engagement incidents.
  • Work collaboratively to design and implement Personalised Regulation & Engagement Plans alongside class teams.

The role is subject to a 6-month mandatory probation during which there is an expectation that Regulation & Engagement Support Workers attend Monday after school training sessions to enhance their work in school and their skill levels. A list of training dates and topics is provided upon commencement.
