Prep & Serve Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant – 18.75 hours or 4.5 hours per week.

Salary Grade 2, points 2‑4 from £12.65‑£13.05 per hour (£10,582‑£10,917 actual salary pro‑rate). The pro‑rate salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.

We are looking for a caring and committed person to join our happy team of lunchtime staff. As a member of our lunchtime team, you will contribute to ensuring positive lunchtimes for our pupils and will be responsible for:

• Setting up the hall for lunch
• Cooking the pre‑prepared hot school meals
• Preparation of accompaniments to the main meals
• Serving meals to pupils, in line with their dietary requirements / allergies
• Overseeing pupils eating their lunches
• Assisting with cleaning/clearing of Hall after the lunch session

The contract is for 18.75 hours per week working Monday‑Friday 9:45‑1:30 or 4.5 hours per week working Monday‑Wednesday 11:45‑1:15 during term time. There is a probationary period. You will also be required to work some INSET days.

• Experience of working with children
• An ability to maintain a healthy and safe environment
• An understanding of food hygiene practices (or a willingness to undertake training)

Education:

Our school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
