Primary Teaching Assistant

About the Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range. You will play a vital role in helping to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
Assisting in the preparation of classroom resources and activities
Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND
Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies
Supervising pupils during break times, school trips, and other activities as required

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with primary-aged children (in a school or similar setting)
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
Is patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic
Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level
3) is desirable but not essential
