Learning Support Assistant
SEN College - Bournemouth, full-time, term‑time, temp‑to‑perm contract, ASAP start.
Job OverviewAcademics are recruiting for a residential SEN college in Bournemouth that caters to young people aged 16-25 with Asperger’s or high‑functioning autism. The role requires an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support learners on a 1:1 and small‑group basis.
Responsibilities- Provide individual and small‑group support to learners with SEN, particularly autism and Asperger’s.
- Manage challenging behaviour and support mental health needs to allow learning.
- Assist with functional, vocational, academic, and personal skill development per individual learning plans.
- Work 40 hours per week, term‑time only.
- Previous experience in a school support role, ideally with pupils with SEN.
- Experience working with autism and/or Asperger’s learners.
- Calm, empathetic, encouraging attitude.
Starting salary of £22,674.64 per annum after a 12‑week temporary period. Initial pay 14.24 per hour on supply.
LocationBournemouth, residential college setting.
