About the role

Teaching Assistant role at Stourfield Junior School. We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and inspiring teaching assistants who are passionate about education and able to make a positive contribution to our children’s learning.

  • Start date:

    September 2026 (subject to pre‑start checks)
  • Contract:

    Fixed term until July 2027
  • Working hours:

    31.25 hours per week – 8.40am‑3.25pm, Monday to Friday
  • Weeks per year:
    School term‑time, Trust Training Days and INSET days
  • Grade: 5
  • Salary range (per annum): £25,583 to £25,989 (FTE); £18,587 to £18,882 (pro rata)

    Headteacher / SENDCo
Responsibilities
  • Primarily work with individual children and/or small groups to improve their learning
  • Supervise children during lunch time and play time
  • Become part of our dedicated, friendly, supportive staff team
  • Develop skills through personalised and whole‑school CPD
  • Contribute expertise and strengths to help enrich children’s learning
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies

Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs A‑C (9‑4), including Maths and English, or equivalent
  • Knowledge and consistent application of a range of school policies (health and safety, equal opportunities, behaviour management, child protection, SEN)
  • Skills to manage safely classroom activities, physical learning space and resources for which you are responsible
  • Ability to use a range of strategies to deal with general classroom behaviour and individual behavioural needs
