Learning Support Assistant and Breakfast Club Assistant

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and positive Learning Support Assistant to work alongside class teachers and children across a class as well as with individual children with additional needs to ensure they have an inclusive and purposeful education alongside their peers. We are committed to continuing professional development and fostering a child‑centred environment where inclusion thrives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support in the classroom predominantly for a child (or children) with additional learning needs or for groups of children.
  • Collaborate with teachers to facilitate inclusive teaching and learning.
  • Assist with meal provision and supervision as part of the breakfast club.
  • Use initiative and flexibility to meet the needs of children across the primary age range.
  • Communicate effectively with children and adults, upholding a positive classroom behaviour.
  • Support children’s development in numeracy and literacy and maintain a friendly, approachable atmosphere.
Qualifications
  • NVQ level 2 in Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children in the primary age range.
  • Strong time‑management skills and the ability to work flexibly.
  • Good general education, numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a sense of humour.
Salary & Working Hours

Salary: £25,583.00–£25,989.00 per annum (actual pay £19,983.31 per annum).

Hours:

33.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 3.15pm, term‑time only.

Contract & Start Date

1‑Year Fixed‑Term contract (probationary period applies).

Start date:

1st September 2026.
