Lead an ambitious curriculum where every student can thrive
Victoria School is seeking a dynamic and values-led Assistant Headteacher to lead curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment in our specialist setting. This is a key leadership role shaping an ambitious, inclusive curriculum for students with ASC, PMLD and complex needs.
The role will be based in either the upper or lower school depending on experience. You will ensure our curriculum is coherent, purposeful and consistently delivered to support progress, communication, independence and preparation for adulthood.
Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Leadership
- Lead development and quality assurance of curriculum across all pathways.
- Ensure sequencing, accessibility and alignment with EHCP outcomes.
- Maintain coherence across the whole school.
- Secure strong, evidence-informed teaching practice.
- Develop meaningful assessment systems.
- Use data to drive improvement and identify priorities.
- Develop and support leaders and staff.
- Work with families and external professionals.
- Contribute to evaluation, planning and inspection readiness
You are an experienced, reflective leader with strong curriculum expertise and a commitment to inclusive education. You combine strategic thinking with the ability to develop others and model excellent practice.
- Qualified Teacher Status with specialist or inclusive experience.
- Strong knowledge of SEND curriculum and assessment.
- Experience leading curriculum or teams.
- Ability to use assessment to improve outcomes.
- Confidence working with families and professionals.
- Understanding of safeguarding, EHCPs and preparation for adulthood.
