We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and compassionate English Teacher to join our specialist education team from September 2026
.
This part-time role involves teaching English Language and Literature up to GCSE level within a supportive specialist setting for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and associated learning needs
.
The successful candidate will be committed to helping students achieve their full academic potential through engaging, differentiated teaching and a nurturing approach.
Working Hours- Monday: 8 hours
- Wednesday: 8 hours
- Thursday: 8 hours
- Additional Thursday session: 3 hours
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons up to GCSE level.
- Differentiate teaching to meet a range of individual learning needs.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations and assessments.
- Monitor progress and provide timely feedback and support.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to support student outcomes.
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent).
- Experience teaching English up to GCSE level.
- Knowledge of, or experience working with, students with SEND, particularly ASC and SEMH needs.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A flexible, patient and solution-focused approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
