Working in partnership with Local Authorities, you will support students who require alternative educational provision due to a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, school avoidance, and complex needs.

Many of the learners we support have been out of education for some time and require a tutor who can build confidence, establish routines, and deliver engaging, personalised lessons that meet their individual needs.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced teachers looking to step away from the classroom while continuing to have a meaningful impact through tailored 1:1 support.

  • Location: BCP Area (BH11, BH16, BH21, BH22 & BH23)
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Hours: Typically up to 15 hours per week per student
  • Type: Contract / 1:1 Tuition
  • Duration: Ongoing, until the student is able to reintegrate into an appropriate educational setting
  • Pay Rate: £25-£30

The Role

As a 1:1 Tutor, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons
  • Support students who may be disengaged from education
  • Build positive relationships and encourage confidence in learning
  • Adapt sessions to suit each learner's needs and EHCP outcomes
  • Provide regular progress updates and session feedback
  • Help students develop structure, routine, and engagement with education

Tuition often takes place in the student's home or another agreed setting.

Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months' classroom teaching experience
  • Experience working with SEND, EHCP, or disengaged learners
  • Strong understanding of ASD, SEMH, anxiety, and related needs
  • Creative, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to provide two professional child-related references
