SEN Mentor

Location: Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and surrounding Dorset areas
Rate: 25 - 30 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: September Start
Contract Type: Flexible, Ongoing

About the Role

Working on a 1:1 basis with young people across the BCP area, you will provide consistent support, encouragement, and guidance tailored to each individual's needs.

This role is centred around personal development rather than academic attainment. You will help young people build confidence, improve social skills, develop independence, and engage positively with their local community.

Every programme is different, allowing sessions to be shaped around the interests, goals, and challenges of the young person you are supporting.

Essential Requirements

  • At least 6 months' experience supporting children or young people within a UK educational setting
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Ability to build positive professional relationships
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Professional references available upon request
