At Minstead Trust, we celebrate people by working to provide excellent support to those with wide-ranging care needs. About the role:
As an Employment Mentor based in Bournemouth, you’ll be responsible for guiding young people through our SEQF Supported Employment Programmes. This mainly focuses on “in-placement” support for our Connect to Work programme and Apprenticeship Placements but does involve some personal development such as job searching, interview prep and CV building.

What you’ll do:

  • Identify work and supported employment-based goals and support individuals to gain the relevant skills and experience to achieve these goals
  • Build substantial relationships with local social enterprises and employers with the aim of developing high quality work experience placements
  • Support businesses with implementing reasonable adjustments to improve accessibility to work for neuro disabled people
  • Act as an Ambassador for the Trust at all placements, networking events and in the community.
  • At least 1 years’ experience of working in a coaching/mentoring role or working with a supported employment programme
  • SET (Supported Employment Techniques) and TSI (Training in Systematic Instruction) or a BASE Level 3 is desirable but not essential
  • A good understanding of assessment and training tools
  • Outstanding communication skills for people of all levels
  • Must have the ability to inspire and motivate
  • Experience of working with neuro disabled adults (preferred but not essential)
  • Due to the location of the role, a UK driving licence with access to a motorised vehicle is essential.

What we offer:

  • 25 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays
  • Refer-a-Friend scheme worth £750!
  • A Celebration Day’s Leave for Your Birthday pro rata

We are not licensed to sponsor employees for visas; therefore, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. You need to have, or be able to obtain, the right to work in the UK in order to take up this position.

All staff working for, or on behalf of Minstead Trust, understand their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding adults at risk and know who to escalate concerns to within Minstead Trust.
