Primary QTS Tutor

Help Young Learners Thrive Through Personalised Support

We're looking for a QTS-qualified Primary Tutor to support children across the BCP area through tailored 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide personalised educational support to primary-aged learners who require alternative provision or additional help to access learning. Many of the children we support have experienced barriers to education and benefit from a patient, nurturing, and engaging tutor who can help rebuild confidence and encourage progress.

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your teaching expertise in a more flexible environment while making a lasting difference to young learners.

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting
  • Experience teaching or supporting primary-aged children
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Ability to deliver engaging, personalised lessons
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and child-centred approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel within the local area

You’ll work with children who may present with a range of needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and school avoidance
  • Speech, language, and communication difficulties
  • EHCPs and additional learning needs

Each learner has unique strengths and challenges, requiring a creative and flexible approach to help them succeed.
