SEND Teaching Assistant Level 2: Supporting child EHCP in KS2 - Heathlands Primary Academy

Teaching assistant post at Heathlands Primary Academy and Pre-School in West Howe, a one-form entry school within Coastal Learning Partnership. The main work is supporting a Year 5 pupil with an EHCP, and the role covers children with a wide range of SEND across the 3 to 11 age range as the pupil moves through the school. The post is fixed term for as long as the child remains on roll, term-time only  hours a week.

Enhanced DBS and Child Barred List checks apply, and knowledge of trauma-informed approaches is useful.

• Supporting a Year 5 pupil with an EHCP in KS2
• Helping pupils with a wide range of SEND needs across ages 3 to 11 as the child moves through the school

• GCSE grade C or equivalent in English
• GCSE grade C or equivalent in Mathematics

• Good spoken and written English
• Confidence and ability to support pupils with a wide range of SEND needs across ages 3 to 11

• Enhanced DBS check
• Child Barred List check
• Online search as part of the safeguarding check for shortlisted candidates

• Satisfactory references
• Health check
• Full employment and education history, with gaps in employment explained
• Two referees; for internal candidates, one must be the current line manager

• Knowledge or understanding of trauma-informed approaches and emotional regulation to support children
