Join a high‑performing engineering team where standards matter.

We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across a defined portfolio of client sites.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll ensure mechanical and electrical systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and in full compliance, while working as part of a close‑knit engineering team.

You’ll cover multiple nearby sites within a regional patch, so some travel between locations is required. (Using company vehicle)

If you enjoy fault‑finding, problem‑solving, and taking ownership of building performance, this is a strong opportunity to develop within a supportive FM environment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for maintaining the client’s mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring assets remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
  • Maintaining and repairing mechanical & electrical systems and associated components
  • Fault‑finding across HVAC, pumps, generators, lighting and small power systems
  • Responding to breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations
  • Responding to BMS alarms and carrying out first‑line diagnostics
  • Ensuring HVAC systems maintain comfortable environmental conditions
  • Completing simPRO tasks with accurate records and photographic evidence
  • Maintaining logbooks and compliance documentation (electrical, mechanical, water systems)
  • Supporting statutory planned maintenance and escalating issues where required
  • Carrying out plant start‑up, shutdown, changeover and optimisation procedures
  • Undertaking regular site walk‑rounds to ensure safety, cleanliness and performance
  • Supporting subcontractors and reviewing works on site
  • Carrying out small repair and installation tasks as required
  • Ensuring all plant rooms are safe, tidy and compliant
  • Communicating clearly with supervisors, account management and clients
Team Structure
  • You will work alongside 2 site engineers and a Contract Support
  • Reporting into the Account Manager
  • Supported by wider Pareto FM engineering and operational teams
  • Strong focus on teamwork, communication and shared standards
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • City & Guilds Level 3 (Electrical or Mechanical discipline)
  • Strong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • Proven experience in Building Services / M&E maintenance
Desirable
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • PASMA & IPAF (1b / 3a / 3b)
  • Unvented hot water systems training
  • BMS / controls / HVAC / generator systems experience
  • ACOP L8 / water systems knowledge
Experience Required

Experience working across a range of building services systems, including:

  • Boiler plant and ventilation systems
  • Pumps and pressurisation systems
  • Generators and switch gear
  • Cables, batteries, lighting and small power systems
  • Drainage, plumbing and sanitary systems
About You
  • Customer‑focused with a professional approach
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability
  • Comfortable working in a team and independently
  • Calm and effective in high‑pressure situations
  • Committed to safety, compliance and quality
Why Join Pareto FM?
  • Stable static role with variety across a local portfolio
  • Strong team structure and support network
  • Exposure to a wide range of building systems
  • Focus on compliance, safety and engineering standards
  • Opportunities for training and development within FM

If you’re an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a stable, well‑structured role with variety and support, we’d like to hear from you.
