Electrical Project Engineer – Environment Dorchester / Poole What you will be doing:

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our expanding team at Galliford Try, based in Dorchester or Poole. You’ll be working within our Environment Business, supporting the delivery of a wide range of water industry projects—covering both wastewater and clean water treatment schemes—as part of our Wessex West Frameworks.

Ideally, you’ll be located in or near the Dorchester/Poole area and willing to travel to various sites and projects across the region.

Role Overview :

Reporting to the Project or Delivery Manager, you’ll be instrumental in the daily management of projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and the wider project team, you’ll help ensure site operations run safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing regular programme updates in collaboration with Planners
  • Reviewing and supporting the development of engineering designs
  • Conducting on-site inspections
  • Managing the procurement of materials
  • Coordinating with commercial teams and attending client meetings
  • Supporting consistent delivery and quality across all aspects of the project

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will oversee the full lifecycle of electrical engineering works, from concept through to completion. Projects may include pumping stations, dosing systems, chlorination plants, and related civil engineering works.

About You:

As well as a passion for your engineering discipline and logical and critical thinking skills, we are seeking individuals with a relevant engineering qualification in your chosen discipline. Experience in a national and multi-site business or Water Industry experience is desirable, but not essential.

Working on site, we’d like you to have ECS, SSSTS, SMSTS, City & Guilds Confined Space Training, City and Guilds Top Man Confined space training, EUSR (Clean Water Hygiene), Appointed Persons for craneage. However, we will support you in covering any training needs.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes;
