Principal Client Project Manager - Flood & Coastal Capital Projects

Rate: £55 - £65 per hour

Lead the Delivery of Major Flood & Coastal Infrastructure Projects
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Client Project Manager to join a well-established South West Flood & Coastal Capital Projects team. With a significant increase in project activity over the next two years, this role offers the opportunity to play a leading part in delivering a portfolio of high-profile flood defence and coastal infrastructure schemes. Working within a highly experienced capital delivery team, you will take ownership of major projects, providing strategic leadership and project management throughout the full project lifecycle.

The Role
As a Principal Client Project Manager, you will work alongside experienced project managers, NEC specialists and technical engineers, taking responsibility for two to three major civil engineering projects. Depending on your experience, you will act as Project Manager, Project Executive or provide Project Assurance across a range of complex flood and coastal schemes.

You will be responsible for:
Leading the delivery of major flood and coastal infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
Managing project governance, programmes, budgets, risks and reporting.
Administering NEC4 ECC and PSC contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
Managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
Providing strategic advice and assurance to support key project decisions.
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and contractors.
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
Significant experience managing major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
PRINCE2 and/or Association for Project Management (APM) qualifications.
Strong knowledge of NEC4 ECC and PSC contract administration.
Experience managing complex project governance, commercial risk and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

Experience with in a Local Authority environment is desirable but not essential.
A full UK driving licence, as travel between project locations will be required.
