Interim Finance Director

We are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to support a private equity-backed manufacturing business in Dorset, operating within the manufacturing and assembly space
.

The business is at a critical phase of its growth and value-creation journey, working closely with its PE investors to strengthen financial control, improve operational performance, and support strategic decision-making. The Interim CFO will play a key role in projects – stabilising, professionalising, and enhancing the finance function while partnering closely with the CEO and Board.

• Act as a trusted finance partner to the CEO, Board, and PE sponsors
• Oversee and execute the financial year end process
• Lead all financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes
• Deliver robust management information (MI) and KPI reporting aligned to PE requirements
• Drive working capital optimisation

• Support operational performance across manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory management
• Oversee cashflow management and short-term funding requirements
• Strengthen financial governance, controls, and compliance
• Support strategic initiatives such as pricing reviews, capex appraisal, and value-creation plans
• Adhoc project requirement

• Proven Interim Finance Director experience in PE-backed businesses
• Strong background in manufacturing
  , ideally within component or engineered products
• Deep understanding of operational finance, cost accounting, and manufacturing KPIs
• Comfortable operating in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment
• Experience supporting change, transformation, or post‑investment phases
• Confident communicator, able to influence at Board and investor
