Head of Finance | Part Time | 3 Days | Bournemouth

Looking for a finance leadership role that gives you the chance to make a genuine impact, without committing to five days a week?

We’re partnering with an established and growing business that’s looking for an experienced Head of Finance to join its senior leadership team.

You’ll be stepping into a business with a talented finance team already in place, so your focus won’t be on the day to day processing. Instead, you’ll provide strategic direction, strengthen reporting and governance, support the team to continue developing, and work alongside the Managing Directors to help shape the next stage of the business.

It’s the ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, influencing decisions and adding value across a business, while still having the flexibility that comes with a genuine part time role.

The opportunity

Working closely with the Managing Directors and Senior Leadership Team, you’ll become the senior finance voice across the business, providing commercial insight, financial oversight and the confidence to challenge and support when it matters most.

You’ll inherit an experienced and engaged finance team who know the day to day inside out, giving you the opportunity to focus on leadership, mentoring and continuous improvement rather than rolling your sleeves up with transactional finance.

You’ll be responsible for
  • Leading the finance function with strategic oversight and commercial direction.
  • Reviewing and signing off monthly management accounts and reporting.
  • Strengthening financial controls, governance and compliance.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
  • Mentoring and developing an experienced finance team.
  • Leading year end, audit and statutory reporting.
  • Driving improvements across systems, reporting and processes.
  • Partnering with the leadership team to support informed business decisions.
About you

You’ll probably already be working as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller or Finance Director and be looking for a role where your experience can make a real difference.

You’re technically strong, commercially aware and enjoy working closely with people across a business. You’re equally comfortable reviewing financial reporting, supporting strategic decisions and helping others develop.

You’ll also bring:

You’ll also bring:
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or qualified through experience.
  • Strong financial reporting, governance and compliance expertise.
  • Previous leadership experience within a finance function.
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.

Experience with in creative or professional services would be an advantage, but by no means essential.

What’s in it for you?
Alongside the opportunity to play a key role in an ambitious and growing business, you’ll enjoy:
  • A circa 3 day per week leadership role, with flexibility around how those hours are worked.
  • £75,000 to £90,000 FTE, paid on a pro rata basis.
  • Time to immerse yourself in the business during onboarding, with greater flexibility once you’re settled in.
  • Company pension and life assurance (4x salary).
  • Free, secure on-site parking.
  • Access to discounted gym membership and wellbeing support.
  • Enhanced family friendly and life event policies.
  • Regular social events and a collaborative culture where people genuinely enjoy working together.
  • Most importantly, the opportunity to join a business where your experience will be valued, you’ll have the autonomy to make a genuine impact, and you’ll work alongside a supportive leadership team that’s committed to continuous improvement.

If you’re looking for a role where your experience will be valued, your opinion listened to and your contribution genuinely felt, we’d love to tell you more.
